It was raining heavily since evening.
We halted at the base in a mountain hut, but we couldn't sleep in night. because of the cow bells which SRK gifted Kajol in the movie DDLJ. They do look pretty
but damn they are a chaos at night. Our mountain hut was all surrounded by those cows making those loud bell noise the whole night. Now 30 years after that movie, I started to hate those cow bells.😆
Trust me after cycling previous day all you need is a good rest however we managed to have a little.
Our plan was to wake up early and to start our hike.
Mountain Hut also known as Alpine huts are the shelter places in mountain with food facilities. They are operated the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC). In Swiss they made these wooden huts all over peaks. Across the Alps wherever you go, you'll find them. You just need to prebook the hut.These huts are maintained by the caretaker who will be there maintaining the property and look after the food. The supplies are provided by helicopter if the huts are too high altitude. Look at the one such mountain hut below which we hiked later on the 4th day.
We woke up early. Morning was really amazing with this view from the front door. You can the Mt Mythen on the right in below pic. The mountain hut in this pic where we stayed, it looked like hotel but this one was the base point. Now it was time to start the hike.
We started our hike and we were ready with our rain cover as well, since it rained in the night.The morning was totally fresh and with this pleasant view you won't feel tired. Mt Mythen was quite clean. You won't find any litter - no plastic bottle nor even a small chocolate wrapper. People really care of the nature. I really feel we should be doing this as well. We are doing it, but we really need to start doing it stringently.
We were welcomed with few friends on the way. We saw few mountain goats and we just sat quiet, not making too much noise. There wasn't anyone on the mountain trail that morning due to rain.
Soon those goats were bored of watching us and went to the other direction. They must be thinking of us being crazy. Along the trail, I was taking pictures of small things of that mountain had to offer.
Slowly the trail got us in and then above clouds and I found the picture perfect frame. This is such bliss!
The top was still foggy. We came across a narrow crossing as we almost reached the top.
Finally we reached the top of Mt Mythen which is around 1,898 m but we already covered half of the height with cycle and the rest half by hiking. This was a warm up hike for us and to check our endurance. Reaching atop Henry and I were having quiet a talk on green energy and how Swiss is doing its bit and how clean energy will be the future. The green energy should be our way of life in future if the world has to be a better place to live. Since he has visited India lot of time, even been to my village, he gave me an idea how my own village could be free from burden of paying high bills and can be converted into a green village with sustainable green energy. Nowadays we see how due to covid-19 everything is shut down and there is low pollution. We can see the difference in the cities. Even the Himalayan mountain ranges can be seen from 200 km distance in north India.
Finally we made to top of Mythen, to my surpise there was another mountain hut with post office. We had warm coffee and I did my favorite thing, sending travel Postcards. 😃 I have a habit to take postcard and send them from place wherever you can find a post office. Today's world which is kinda of lost, it feels nice to send a smile to people around the world. 😄
I took few postcards and Send them to few friends I could thought of at that time.

Initially I thought it's a small hike but I couldn't see the top it was all hidden in the fog.

The gecko looked wet to me. I named him "Wetto".. Lolz.
The nature has its own grace, It is us losing some things in the race.
After a quiet climb we took a halt to drink water as the climb started to become a little steep and exposed to mountain side. You can see the trail going up.

You can see our base down there where we parked our cycles. We needed to quickly pack-up and cycle down and start our journey further.
