Cycling from Lauterburren valley till Thun in Switzerland

Continued from Explore Wengen (Lauterbrunnen valley) in Switzerland Part 8.

After our last trail hike across lauterbureen valley and also the most tourist visited place,so headed our way to the city of Thun crossing Interlaken and this was suppose to be our last cycling patch.

We have had enjoyed the nice mountain valley hiking, wasn't that much but we enjoyed the scenery. Then we caught our cycles again and cycled down to Interlaken. For most of the tourists, this place "between the lakes" is the starting point to head towards "Top of Europe". There are some old grand hotels with the great view, towards the mountains attracts a lot of tourists, But for us if after having climbed in the real alps, it wasn't that impressive.

Here are some pictures as we started leaving Lauterburren valley as I said the cycle routes goes along the highway but isolated from cars and buses.

That's the mountain at the back which we hiked this morning .

Some small towns as we crossed and as came near to Interlakan.

Interlakan town.

finally another tourist flooded place in Switzerland, Interlakan.

But I have to confess, the view cycling along the lake towards Thun in the evening sun is magnificent. Thinking that you have never seen this harmonic combination of clean blue lakes and white mountain tops makes me appreciating our beautiful country even more. Nonetheless, most of us "Swiss" live in big cities, not in these decorated wooden houses, and our wealth rather comes from banking than from Swiss cheese and chocolate.

and after having a nice pizza we reached our destination Thun, the beautiful small town,

We had a quite broad range of accommodations now: A simple mountain guest house to start, a comfortable hotel in a patriarchal house in Sachseln, then the simple but unique Dossenhütte followed by the run-down old grand hotel, and now we have a modern new suite - everything is available in Switzerland. I think - in general - it is the diversity one can experience a small area which makes Switzerland special, and it all comes on the choice and how you want to spend.

as I said earlier this was out last cycle patch and from here we had to send our cycles back on train to home. Finally this was the last place where all high peak of Alps were left behind.

There is always this emotional feeling you have when you leave the mountains behind which I always felt weather its Himalayas or Westernghats and even for Alps. Missing Alps..

to be continued part 9....
